Instead of just vegetating on the couch in front of the television as is ususally the case, we decided to go and visit some friends of Mom's who are staying at Weenen Game Reserve (an hours drive from here).

After being dragged out of bed at the unheard of hour of 6 am on a dark Saturday morning, bleary eyed we made our way to Weenen. I really wanted to show Mom the sights and sounds of the place that I've come to love and feel is a little piece of heaven in my heart. Mom has never been one for game reserves and the whole "wildlife" scene, so it took some convincing to get her there. It was worth it though as we saw a newborn white rhino calf with its mother and some adorable baby giraffe (Mom was stoked about the giraffe) as well as a variety of birds and the weather was perfect. We sat in the shade of a thorn tree drank wine, picknicked and just relaxed. I dozed in my chair in the sun and looked up at the blue sky and just chilled.

Too many words would spoil this so enough said. Nature is perfection and being immersed in it lets one realise how lucky we are to have these places to enjoy. We must leave this legacy for our children or else they will have no where to call their own piece of heaven.

My soul is renewed, restored and I feel that delicious tiredness coming on.

Chow for now and to all a good night.
