The games have begun

Although the Olympic Games are still a few months away, the Cat vs. Rat games have begun in earnest here. Last night was another round to the cats. Crunching bones, revolting sucking noises and two kidneys and a pool of blood was all the evidence of the night's activities that took place on the bathroom mat. For some reason - known only to them, they've taken to bringing their prey like a sort of sacrificial offering to this mat. My poor Mother is heartily sick of washing this blood and guts stained mat every day.

Last nights rat was a small one (compared to the monster of last season). Thanks to the veld below our property with lots of tall grass which seems to harbour them in their millions the cats are kept in clover, and we are saved from having to feed them copious amounts of nuts and Fancy Feast which is their usual food of choice.

Cats 4 (probably more)
Rats 2 million (but dropping fast)

And the medal goes to.......... ?
