Silence of the sparrows

Over the last few weeks we have noticed with growing concern the absence of the ususal sparrows at the feeding tables. Quite a few of our friends in the town have also noticed the absence of these cheeky, cheerful little birds.

What on earth has caused their absence is something of a mystery. The one cat is the obvious suspect, but even he couldnt have worked his way through the entire avian population - could he?

A real mystery indeed!
