Dealing with medical aids and organisations of the ilk are enough to cause anyone to lose their sense of humor and land up weaving baskets in the asylum!!

Not only do you have to deal with the inevitable "You have reached ____ if you would like to get a balance press 1, if you would like to get pre-authorisation for a hospital visit press 2, if you would like to enquire about our services press 3.... and so it goes on!". When you finally get to speak to a consultant you inevitably have to tell them the whole spiel, only to be told that you need to speak to someone else. You get put through and then repeat the whole sorry saga again. Do this a few times and you begin to lose your voice and sense of humour!

If by some miracle you actually managed to get helped, it gives you a sense of amazement and you are reduced to a state of hysterical giggling - you actually got helped and it makes sense.

This state of euphoria lasts for about an hour until the consultant phones back and informs you that what you had originally been told is in fact incorrect.

They're coming to take me away ha ha...
